Continental Tire to Title Sponsor Two College Basketball Tournaments

Fort Mill, SC – (Nov. 17, 2011). Continental Tire has been named the title sponsor for two marquee college basketball tournaments, the Las Vegas Invitational and the Las Vegas Classic.  Both tournaments will be held this year at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, NV.  Tickets for the final rounds in Las Vegas can be purchased by calling the Orleans Arena box office at (702)284-7777, or by visiting www.orleansarena.com.

The 11th annual Las Vegas Invitational, scheduled for November 25th and 26th, will feature preseason top-ranked University of North Carolina, University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV), University of South Carolina, and the University of Southern California (USC).  Morgan State, Cal-Poly, Mississippi Valley, and Tennessee State will also try their best to claim the invitational title.

The Las Vegas Classic will host another group of powerhouse schools December 22nd and 23rd with participants including West Virginia, Baylor, St. Mary’s, and Missouri State.  Bethune Cookman, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Kennesaw State, and Tennessee Tech will also participate in the December tournament.

“To add the Las Vegas Invitational and Las Vegas Classic to Continental Tire’s growing list of elite sports partnerships is certainly an honor,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing, Continental Tire.  “We’ve had a lot of success with our current college partner’s, Duke University and University of North Carolina, and their sport’s programs so this partnership made perfect sense.  The list of competing schools in both tournaments is impressive and we look forward to some very entertaining games.”

The two tournament’s join Continental Tire’s notable list of sport’s properties including Major League Soccer, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Grand-Am road racing.
